Barn. C18, roof rebuilt in early C19. Timberframed and
weatherboarded with a slated gabled roof. A 6-bay unaisled barn
facing S, with a projecting gabled porch off-centre to W flanked
by weatherboarded and slated lean-to terminating in a low gabled
cross wing near the E corner. Opposed double doors and high
boarded doors in the N side. continuous ventilation slot above b
lean-to to E of porch. Unjowled posts with rails tennoned in
line and long curved braces to the tie beams. A post central to
each gable end. A good example of a late timber framed barn,
specifically designed for its purpose. The lean-to parts on the
S are probably original. A long shelter shed, formerly extended
S from the E end of the S side. Part of the picturesque group of
tarred weatherboarded barns at Hunsdon Lodge Farm.
