House, now a shop with house. Probably late medieval origin,
extended to front in late C17, shopfront inserted in early C20.
Timber frame on stuccoed plinth, plastered with panelled
pargetting to front. Steep old red tile roofs. Originally a T-
plan house facing W with projecting crosswing on N end, central
chimney at junction of the wings, and a rear lateral external
chimney serving the S part. C17 parallel 2-storeys lobby-entry,
front extension forming a hipped NW corner with the older
crosswing and extending less to S than old rear range. Shop
formed in S part of C17 extension. W front of house has a 6-
panelled fielded door up steps with moulded doorcase and large
moulded cornice as hood. 4 2-light casement flush upper windows,
3-light casement to left of door. 2 windows on N end.
Projecting C20 shopfront up steps with central door.
