Block of 4 houses. C17, renovated in C19. Timber frame
weatherboarded with steep old red tile roofs. 2 storeys above
stucco sill. Facing E, with steep central gable and lean-to
tiled bracketed hood to each of 4 doors. Symmetrical regular
arrangement with each house having central door and 2 windows on
each floor. Flush 2-light casement windows, renewed, with small
panes. Very large red brick central chimney stacks with diagonal
shafts. Heavy timber framed structure. Picturesque group by the
ford on Maltings Lane.
