House, formerly pair of houses. 1796 for John Uppleby, with C20
alterations. Brick, concrete pantile roof. Forms north-east side of
stableyard. 2-room plan with central entrance to rear. Vest side facing
stableyard: 2 storeys, 4 bays: 2 ground-floor 12-pane sliding sashes beneath
segmental arches with blocked openings above. 2 first-floor 12-pane sliding
sashes with lintels at eaves level. Stepped and dentilled brick eaves
cornice. Hipped roof. Central stack. Right return has full-height basket-
arched panel containing C20 casement in blocked door, and 12-pane sliding
sash to left. North gate to stableyard (qv) adjoins left angle. Included
for group value.
