Former farmhouse. C17 rebuilding of a medieval house. Plastered cob on stone
footings; concrete tiled roof, gabled-end to left, hipped to right. 3 room, cross-
passage plan type, the service end to the right of passage. External left-hand
end stack, and an external rear lateral stack to hall, both completely rebuilt
in brick. 2 storeys.
Front: completely late C20 fenestration; 2 lst floor windows originally under
eyebrow eaves; 4 ground floor windows; open slate-roofed, leanto porch.
Interior: chamfered and stopped ceiling cross beam to hall; hall fireplace with
chamfered wooden jamb (another possibly concealed). 4 jointed crucks with C17
crossed and pegged apex carpentry; the roof has a considerable number of reused
smoke-blackened timbers, including the ridge-piece.
