CHELTENHAM

SO9522SW GROSVENOR STREET 630-1/14/356 (West side) 14/12/83 Nos.14 AND 16 and attached railings

GV II

2 terraced houses and attached railings. c1820-50. Stucco over brick with concealed roof, brick and stucco end and party-wall stacks; iron railings and gates. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys on basements, 6 first-floor windows (3:3). Stucco detailing includes rustication to ground floor drawn into voussoirs over openings, first-floor band; incised Greek-key motif around first- and second-floor windows to left house (No.14). Windows: 6/6 sashes where original, blind central opening to second floor, left house; all with sills and in plain reveals. Basement has 3/6 sashes where original. Entrances: flights of renewed steps to central C20 6-panel (right) and board doors, with frieze and fanlights, that to left with glazing bars. Low parapet and copings. INTERIOR: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: lancet area railings and to sides of steps, stanchions with urn finials.
