Headstone. Late C18. Engraved by D. Sandercock, North Tamerton. Slate. Headstone
with a segmental head commemorating Mary Metherel, died 1795 and her infant son. A
clock in an aedicule carved in the head, flanked by roundels containing a kneeling
figure and an angel. Good lettering, verse below inscription includes the lines "The
child being gone the Mother could not stay/But humbly wishd for Death and slept
away/."
