Public house, formerly a house. Probably late C16 - early C17 with major C19 and C20
alterations. Plastered cob and rubble; rubble stacks with plastered brick chimney
shafts; slate roof. Much altered 3-room-and-through-passage plan house facing east.
Rear lateral stacks to left (southern) and central rooms and end stack to right room.
2 storeys. Regular but not symmetrical 4 window front of C20 casements without
glazing bars. C19 door right of centre with flat hood on shaped timber brackets.
C20 door left of centre. Either could represent site of former passage. Roof gable-
ends to right and continuous with adjoining cottage to left. Much-altered interior.
Central and right (northern) rooms have richly-moulded late C16 - early C17
crossbeams, latter with roll stops. Left (southern) room includes a chamfered and
step-stopped beam of similar date. Several inserted C19 beams. Fireplaces blocked.
Roof not inspected.
