9/16 Statue in garden of
Howard's House

GV II

Statue. C18. Lead figures on stone pedestal. Depicts boy ice skating, with
game birds strapped to waist, accompanied by running dog carrying game bird in
its mouth. Reputed to be Russian, probably a gift to John Howard after his
first visit to Russia in 1781.
