Early C17 gatehouse of careful design. Red brick, stone dressings. Ground floor
round-arched carriageway with Roman Doric half columns and entablature. 1st floor
has 2 three-light stone mullion casements. Gable above with brick coping, and
central stone tablet below. Reveal of archway has pointed arched niches on each
side. Some of brick and stonework has been restored.
