Monument in slate with white marble inlay. Appliqued flowers and a garland of harvested cereal (the fruit of the earth, taken). Many of the individually crafted florets are missing. To Margaret wife of TD Clark, Vicar of Wysall d Oct 21st 1778 aet 53 Mother of 5 sons six daughters. The epitaph continues -Friendly Reader let thy manners be as mild, thy life as innocent and thy soul like hers; then die and be as happy. Invidious Grave, how dost thou rend in sunder A bond love has knit and sympathy made one A Tie more stubborn far than Natures bind-. (Photo Apr 2008).
