House. C15, late C16, mid-C17 and early C19. Timberframed,
plastered Ground floor, weatherboarded 1st floor and attics. Red
brick extensions, old tile roof. 2 gable ends to road on SE
elevation, 1st floor jettied on heavy beams. SW gable is former
cross wing of late medieval house. Central door has reeded and
paterae surround and later, bracketed, tiled porch. Late C16,
red brick stack towards NE and modern, NE, lean-to extensions.
Rear of SW wing has mid-C17 chimneystack with 3 conjoined
diagonal shafts. Early C19 brick brewhouse and bakehouse
extension on NE. English bond, single storey. Good exposed
timber frame inside main house. NE bay has late C16 floor beams
and a mid-Cl7, wide, oak staircase with simple, classical
balusters. Rear wing with chamfered oak lintel to chimneybreast.
