Farmhouse and stables/granary now partly incorporated in house. 1796 for
Carrington Estate, with rear wing raised in C19. Brick with pantile roofs.
L-shaped on plan: house has central entrance hall front and single-bay rear
wing with stables extension and outshut in angle. House: 2 storeys, 3 bays;
symmetrical. C20 part-glazed door with plain overlight in architrave under
segmental brick arch. C19 4-pane flush sashes with stucco cills and
segmental arches. Stone-coped gables with shaped kneelers. End stacks,
that to left rendered. Left return has single brick band across gable at
eaves level and a circular recessed panel above bearing inscription:
PRAY Left return forms east side of stackyard: single storey
PLAY and SING. stables/granary with attic to left, raised to 2 full storey
GOD to right adjoining house; 6 bays. Plank stable doors to
SAVE THE left, blocked door and part-glazed doors to right; 3
KING inserted windows in original openings, all with segmental
1796 brick arches. 2 blocked breathers to stable; 5 recessed
plaster oval panels above. C19 dormer to left. Brick coped
gable. Interior not investigated.
