House and adjoining stables. Mid-late C18. House: squared limestone with
brick plinth and stacks; pantile roof. Stable: brick front and gable-end
with coursed limestone rubble to rear; pantile roof. L-shaped on plan, with
central entrance hall front and rear wing with stables extension. 2 storeys
with attic, 3 bays; symmetrical. Plinth. Part-glazed panelled door with 3-
pane overlight in C19-20 panelled reveal with architrave, flanked by 12-pane
flush sashes with stone cills. All openings under wedge lintels, incised in
imitation of brick and with traces of original red paint. Stone-coped
gables with shaped kneelers. End stacks. Gables have blocked pointed attic
openings. Left return has entrance in angle with part-glazed fielded-panel
door under 3-panel overlight, and 3-light sliding sashes with glazing bars
beneath wedge lintels. Adjoining stable: 2 low storeys, 5 bays. Entrance
to left of centre, widened in C20, with sliding doors and segmental arch of
original opening above; small casements with glazing bars to either side,
and 2 C20 casements to right, that to right end in blocked doorway. All
windows have segmental brick arches. 5 oval openings with brick surrounds
to first floor, all with wooden panels, the 3 to left with circular
perforations. Interior of house contains fielded-panel window shutters to
front section.
