Cottage. Late C18 or early C19. Extended at each end and porch added 1942-6.
Unrendered stone rubble. Hipped thatch roof with ornamental ridge. Brick ridge
stack (formerly gable end).
Originally 2-room cottage, internal partitions removed in C20 with 2-storey
extensions each of 1-room plan added at each end in C20.
Original cottage has 2-window range. 2-light casements to upper storey, 3-light
casements to ground floor flanking porch with hipped thatched roof. Left-hand
extension has 3-light window above French windows, that to right has 2-light
casement 6 panes per light above 2-light casement, 2 panes per light. Small leanto
to rear right end.
Interior: Principally altered in C20. Ceiling beam in original cottage said to
have come from Eggesford House. Roof has rough pegged trusses with straight
