8/11 Church Farmhouse

Farmhouse, now house. Early C15, rebuilt late C16 and altered C20.
Timber frame with brick infill, part painted brick. Old tiled half
hipped roof. Rectangular plan of 3 framed bays. 2 storeys and attic,
2 large chimneys, one at each end, the one on the right is older and is
an inglenook; both rebuilt at top. 2-light irregular C19 casement
windows with glazing bars, spaced within framing. Plain entrance door
on north west gable. Interior: Most of timber frame visible with 3
large moulded beams on the ground floor, the joists between are chamfered
with stopped ends; the joists in the north west bay are plain. Stairs
to first floor are C16 with large moulded handrail; large turned
balusters, some re-set, and large square carved newel posts. V.C.H. Vol.3
