The eastern reception room

This is a 3.72m wide 'inglenook' fireplace which has a huge elm beam over its opening, supported by two Purbeck stone worked pillars, probably obtained from the ruins of thee medieval manor house at Kingston Lacy. The fireplace also has an original 'curing chamber' still with its hooks for hanging meat. etc.
