Row of 3 houses, formerly part of a cottage industry complex; c.1800 with C20
alterations. Limestone rubble front and rendered brick rear; pantiled roofs
with rendered chimneys. Each house of 2 storeys, except No. 7 which has basement,
and 3 bays with central doorway.
No. 7, which breaks forward and is taller than the flanking houses, has dressed
quoins and a pedimented 2-storey centre bay which also breaks forward. C20
6-panel door and 2-pane over light in Tuscan doorcase with bowed entablature.
Blocked basement windows and late C20 casements. Dentilled brick eaves band.
Roof has coped gables, shaped kneelers and end chimneys.
Nos. 6 and 8 have pedimented Tuscan doorcases (No. 8 has C19 6-panel door);
flanking early C20 paired 2-pane sashes with leaded lights; No. 6 has 3 similar
single windows above, No. 8 has three 16-pane sashes above. Roofs, that of No. 8
renewed, have end gable copings and chimneys.
Each house has a 2-storey wing attached to rear; wings have mainly replaced
fenestration; No. 8 has 2 large sliding sashes below eaves; Nos. 6 and 8 have
tall central ridge stacks.
Nos. 6, 7 and 8 form the focus of a tripartite symmetrical composition with
attached, flanking wings which are lower and break back.
