Nos. 50 and 50A (formerly listed as Nos. 117 and 118)

Pair of cottages at left end of terrace, originally one house. No. 50A used as
outbuilding. Early C18. Coursed rubble stone walls, stone slate roofs, one
stone and one brick stack on ridge. One storey and attics. No. 50 has ledged
door with small glass panel. Ground floor has 4 casements under flat arches,
one with horizontal glazing bars, one in former doorway. Attic has 3 pent-roofed
dormers with casements with glazing bars. Internally, main ground floor room has
large open fireplace with timber lintol and bread oven. Some exposed ceiling beams.
No 50A has 2 leged doors. Attic has one pent-roofed dormer with casements with
glazing-bars. Later brick outbuilding on left. (RCHM, Monument 107. Dorset.
Vol II). A National Trust property.
