A C18 timber-framed and plastered house with a C17 wing. 2 storeys.
3 window range, double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The centre window
on the ground storey is a French window. At the rear there are 2 gables
with 2-oriel bay windows. Roof tiled, hipped.

No 14 (Recess) and No 16 (Bramstons) form a group with No 35 (Barnardiston)
and No 2 (White Horse Public House), Church Street.
