Farmhouse, now 2 houses. Early C17, possibly incorporating earlier building,
with later alterations. Rubble, partly rendered, pantiled roof with gable
stack and ridge stack. T-plan, former through passage. Former front, now
rear, to south east, of 1½ storeys, has plank and batten door in heavy frame
with timber lintel and C20 porch, 2 ground floor windows with timber lintel and
2 roof-lights, all C20. South west elevation of 2 storeys and 3 windows, all
C20, roof line steps down to left, buttresses; rear, (now front) has varied
windows and porch, all C20. Interior: ground floor east room has blocked door
with pointed arch, large fireplace with deep chamfered lintel, chamfered jamb
and bread oven to left, bacon-smoking chamber to right; deep chamfered beams,
C20 stair with small blocked windows (formerly lighting stair) beam with chamfer
about 30 centimetres deep at foot of stair. 1st floor has plank and batten
door with 4-centred arch.
