ST 58 SE PILNING AND SEVERN PILNING STREET

11/240 Foxhole Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Shown on O.S. as Pilning Farmhouse. Late C16 origin with C17, C18
and later alterations and additions. Rubble, rendered at front, pantiled roof
with brick gable stack to right and ridge stack. L-plan, former through
passage. 2½ storeys, 3 windows, ground floor has two 2-light casements with
ovolo mullions, and two 3-light casements to right, central gabled porch with
C20 door, 1st floor has 2-light casement with ovolo mullions to left, two
3-light casements to right, 2 dormers each with 3-light casements, single storey
lean-to to left. Left return has 2 small attic windows, former roof line
visible, right return has C20 windows and door, 1½ storey wing. Interior:
chamfered and scroll stopped beams and lintel to kitchen fireplace.
