Footpath guidepost: late C19. Cast-iron, slightly tapering octagonal
shaft on plinth. Shaft has inscription in plain raised lettering.
WIRRAL FOOTPATHS ETC. PRESERVATION SOCIETY BY PERMISSION OF THE
COUNCIL, and to rear maker's name, W H SMITH & CO. WHITCHURCH.
Moulded top with ball finial carries single fingerplate with nicked
corners, reading
