Police Station now surgery. Dated 1894. Squared rubblestone brought to
course, Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Gothic style. Station Road
front: central bay gabled and projecting; right bay gabled and set back.
Left bay has elliptical-arched quoined doorway with moulded surround and
cornice. Above is plaque in quoined chamfered surround inscribed 'Police
Station 1894'. Central bay has 4-light window with 3-light window above,
both in quoined moulded surrounds with dripmoulds. Right bay is masked
by single-storey C20 addition (in keeping but destroying balance of facade).
On lst floor is 3-light window as before. Moulded copings, corniced stacks
to right of ridges of gabled bays. Rear (onto Victoria Road): right bay
gabled. Central gabled porch with door as front under hoodmould, coped
gable with ball finials and small window in each return. Windows, as front,
of 2, 3 and 4 lights. Chamfered eaves band to left bays, moulded coping
to right bay and stack in its right roof pitch.
