2/6 2 The Cottage

Cottage, late C17, Pebble dashed brick nogged timber frame with added
brick wing, slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Boarded door with false
strap hinges in lightweight trellis porch. 2-light flush casements.
The east gable has exposed timber frame, with passing braces, and
sprockets and spurs, from the truss, where the roof has been raised at
eaves. The sandstone plinth and full timber frame is exposed at the
rear (south). The brick wing has been added to the west gable. Barge
boards and gable end stacks.
Interior: Bevelled beams and exposed ceiling joists.
