Carthouse and stable: early C19. Coursed squared buff sandstone
rubble. Kerridge stone-slate roof and stone ridge. 2-storey, 4-bay
front. Left end bay has a cart entrance under a low segmental rubble
arch. 2nd bay is a stable with semi-circular headed doorway with a
flag in the fanlight, and an ashlar doorcase. 3rd has ashlar doorcase
to feeding passage and right end bay similar to another stable. Above
are 3 circular pitch-holes with ashlar surrounds. Against left gable
is mounting block of 4 steps made of stone flags.

This building and the cornbarn etc. (q.v.) form a good courtyard of
farmbuildings developed between the late C17 and early C19 and
untouched since.
