Farmhouse: early C18 with C20 alterations. Coursed squared buff
sandstone rubble. Partly Kerridge stone-slate, partly Welsh slate
roof, long central ridge chimney. Square in plan. 2½-storey,
symmetrical 3-bay west front. End bays have 3-light C20 wooden
casements on 1st 2 storeys and 3-light chamfered stone mullions in ½
storey, with leaded lights. Semi-circular rubble arched doorcase. To
rear similar mullioned windows in ½ storey and a taller 3 and 4-light
weakly chamfered stone mullions on ground storey.
Interior: Central passage with pair of rooms to either side and
fireplaces in the partition walls. 1st 2 flight of dogleg staircase
have moulded handrail and turned column balusters. Number of
2-panelled doors with raised fields"and wooden handles and latches,
and a 4-board door with iron-strap hinges. Some exposed sawn
chamfered and stopped ceiling beams. Remains of brick oven in one
chimney breast.

An unusual plan for the area, of double-pile type with a central
stack.
