Church of St Manarck and St Dunstan

A Grade I Listed Building in Lanreath, Cornwall

St Manarch: Henry VI from rood screen dado

Uploader's Comments

The king holds an orb & sceptre; feet on antelope with serrated horns. Though never canonised and wasn't a successful king, he was widely venerated in the west country and East Anglia and his tomb at Windsor became the scene of miracles and pilgrimages. Henry VII and his son vigorously promoted the cult between 1485 and 1520.
