2/58 Gate piers north of
Spurstow Lower Hall

II

Gate piers, late C17, relating to a former building on site. Red
sandstone square piers off bevelled and moulded bases. The east and
west faces of the piers are carved with raised and fielded panels, two

consoles. The piers have cavetto moulded overhanging caps and
pineapple finials on small square torus moulded abaci. The wrought
iron gates are later and of no interest.
