SJ 56 SE ALPRAHAM C.P. ALPRAHAM GREEN

1/4 Hilbre Lodge and the
cottage adjoining (east)

GV II

Cottage early C17 with later additions, now two dwellings. Part
exposed timbers and some roughcast covering to timber frame. 2
storeys and attic, 2 bays, with additional bay added (west) and north
wing to form "L" shaped plan. The west cottage has exposed timbers,
in small framing, in the facade and a substantial rendered brickwork
addition (west) painted black and white. It also has some exposed
timbers at the rear. The east cottage has a complete timber framed
gable but the facade is covered by roughcast. Windows in the west
cottage are replaced casements with leaded lights. The windows in the
east cottage are flush casements with glazing bars. Gable barge board
with finials, central stack.
Interior: Bevelled beams, exposed timbers of the original west
cottage gable. Old ledged and battened doors.
