SJ 87 NE MOTTRAM ST.ANDREW C.P. WILMSLOW ROAD (North
Side)

5/91 Wing walls, railings,
gate piers and gates to
Mottram Hall Hotel
14/4/1967

GV II

Wing walls, railings, gate piers and gates: c.1750 for William
Wright, but wing walls probably rebuilt C19. Ashlar buff sandstone,
wrought iron gates and railings. 2 low curving wing walls with
weathered copings carry spear railings. These end in chamfered
rusticated piers on moulded plinths and with ball finialled projecting
capstones. Main gate piers are larger and have a more ornate finial.
These carry the side gates with curving tops. These have spears,
speared dog bars and a St.Andrew's brace with Apollo's head on the
crossing. The pair of carriage gates are similar but longer.
