GV II

Gate Lodge. c1843. By Edward Blore. Red Flemish bond brick with
ashlar dressings and felt roof. Three storeys, square tower. Road
front: stone plinth and quoins, common to all sides. Two-light
mullioned casement window to ground floor with stone surround and
cavetto-moulded lintel. 2 x 4 sash panes to each light. Similar
window to first and second floors. Stone entablature supporting
panelled parapet with square panelled posts to corners bearing pierced
ogee finials to left and chimney stack to right. Ogee-shaped roof
above carrying ball finial with flag pole. C20 ground floor extension
to right. Left hand side: Door with stone surround and single light
windows to either side with similar windows to first and second floors
as on Road front. Rear: One single-light window to second floor.
