Coffin in grounds of
Dorman Memorial
Roman coffin. Roughly-hewn limestone, on 2 mid-C20 stone benches. Tapered
coffin and chamfered lid, approximately 212cm long, x 94cm wide, x 82cm
high, overall. Discovered during ironstone quarrying operations, by Cargo
Fleet Iron Co. Ltd., at Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, and presented to
Dorman Memorial Museum 1927.
