House. Probably C18. Rendered stone rubble and cob. Unrendered on rear elevation
with cob unplastered. Corrugated iron and corrugated asbestos roof with gable ends.
Eaves of roof raised 4 times. Originally steeply sloping. Projection stone rubble
chimney stack at gable end on right with cloam oven projection, the shaft removed.
Stone rubble chimney stack with brick shaft at lower left-hand gable end.
Probably 2 room plan with C19 stair in cross passage. Kitchen on right heated by end
stack. Larger room, probably parlour, on left heated by smaller end stack.
2 storeys, asymmetrical 4-window front. Ground floor with 2-light French window to
left beneath wide timber lintel. 2-light casement with glazing bars and entrance to
right of centre with plank door. Chamfered lintel above with run-out stops. C20 3-
light casement to right beneath slate hood. First floor with four 2-light casements,
2 on right C19 with centre-hung lights. Segmental arches. Rear elevation with
unplastered cob on first floor. Unpierced although possible evidence of blocked
opening near centre.
Interior some chamfered ceiling beams although several replaced in circa mid C20.
Screens of cross passage removed. Several reused slight plank and muntin screens on
first floor.
Deed of new house tucking mill and land called Yearles Coombe dated 1674 in County
Record Office, Truro (FS 3/1110/1-3).
