GV IS

Farmhouse. C17 or earlier with early C19 alterations. Rubblestone with slate roof
with hipped ends and gable end to 2 storey porch to left of centre. Brick shaft in
left-hand hipped end with projecting rubblestone stack. Rubblestone stack with slate
strings in ridge above entrance and rear lateral brick stack to outshut to rear.
Plan altered. 3 room and cross or through passage plan with stack inserted into
passage to form baffle entry plan. Unheated inner room.
2 storeys, asymmetrical 5 window front. Ground floor, to left of 2-storey porch,
tripartite sash with glazing bars. Partly glazed door in porch with glazing bars.
To right, double 16-pane sash beneath brick segmental arch and 2-light casement
window with glazing bars and stanchions beneath timber lintel. Above, 16-pane sash
on left, two 2-light casement with glazing bars, I in gable end of porch, double 16-
pane sash and 3-light casement with glazing bars. Blocked fireplace over 6 feet in
depth to rear of entrance.
Interior Only entrance hall and lower room inspected. Fireplaces covered.
Unspoilt house which could be expected to contain several interesting internal
features.
