2 adjoining houses. Circa early-mid C18. Slatestone rubble partly painted.
Asbestos slate roof with brick axial chimney and brick chimneys over large external
gable breasts.
Townsend Cottage left (south) originally 1-room plan, now 2, and Blue Cottage has 2-
room plan with central entrance.
2 storeys. Originally 3-window front now with 4 windows. Townsend Cottage has 4-
pane 2-light casement circa 1900 inserted over and to right of doorway. Otherwise
wide 10-paned horned sashes in original openings. Townsend Cottage, left, has
entrance to right within gabled glazed porch with 4-panel door, and Blue Cottage has
nearly symmetrical front with central doorway within small C20 gabled porch with
top-glazed door.
Interior of Blue Cottage has large fireplace with cloam oven.
