GV II

Pair of houses and front garden wall and fence. Circa 1840's. Killas rubble with
granite quoins, jamb stones and lintels. Hipped roof with wide eaves and brick
chimneys over side walls. No 23 (west) has original slurried scantle slate roof and
No 24 has asbestos slates.
Double depth semi-detached pair of houses with mirror image with paired central
entrance halls and principal front room right and left with service room behind.
2 storeys. Symmetrical 4-window south front with all original 12-pane hornless
sashes. Middle windows are grouped closer with doorways under. No 23 has top-glazed
4-panel door with overlight and No 24 has possibly original 6-panel door with
overlight. Cast iron ogee gutters. Lead flashing under slate sills.
Interior not inspected.
Low granite coped rubble wall to front. No 23 has rail and dowel wooden fence and

This is one of a row of similar contemporary houses in St Johns Terrace which form an
impressive group in spite of later alterations to some of the houses.
