Nos 28 and 29 and garden walls and railings to south

II

Pair of houses and front garden wallls and railings. Circa 1840's. Killas rubble with granite quoins, jambstone and lintels (incised to resemble voussoirs). Hipped partly grouted scantle slate roof with wide eaves and brick chimneys over side walls and over party wall.

Each house plan is two rooms with central stair and rear service rooms within integral outshut.

Two storeys. South front. Each house has symmetrical two-window front with central doorway. Original six-panel doors within C20 porches. Horned two-pane sashes. Slate sills with lead flashing under.

Interior not inspected.

Low granite coped rubble wall to front with rail and dowel wooden fence and matching gate.

This is one of a row of similar contemporary houses in St Johns Terrace which form an impressive group in spite of later alterations to some of the houses.
