2 adjoining houses probably originally I house. C17. Painted slatestone rubble
walls. Hipped asbestos slate roofs, polygonal to north end with large brick chimney
over external breast and stone rubble stack over side wall to west wing. L shaped,
single depth plan, remodelled C19. 2 storeys. Main range has 2 window west, street
front with pair of doorways with hoods on wooden brackets to right. 1 window wing at
right angle adjoins further to right. 16-pane, 2-light casements except first floor
left 8-pane, 2-light casement. Slate sills. Wooden lintels cemented over. Corner
to left is splayed to full height for carriage access. Ground and first floor 16-
pane sashes to left of chimney breast in north wall. Ovolo moulding to ground floor
wooden lintel.
Interior of No 8 ground floor front room has heavy ovolo moulded oak beams. Stops
concealed behind dry lining. Otherwise not inspected.
