Description

SW 72 SE ST. ANTHONY
-IN-MENEAGE
5/197 Cart house at approx 60 metres
- north west of Lannarth Farmhouse

GV II

Possibly originally a cider house, later converted to a cart house. Probably C18 or
early C19. Formerly lime washed but now unpainted cob walls over rubble footing.
Half-hipped at left (east) and fully hipped at the right, wheat reed thatched roof.
Small rectangular single cell plan with entrance at the left hand side, widened in
the C19 with original loading doorway over.
Interior unaltered with unhewn beams and roof structure.
An unusually complete and very rare for Cornwall thatched farm building, picturesque
at the roadside.
