SX 29 NW POUNDSTOCK

10/126 Walls, gates and gateway about 15
- metres north of Penfound Manor

GV II

Walls, gates and gateway forming north side of courtyard to the front of Penfound
Manor (q.v.) Walls possibly C16, may have been rebuilt, gateway circa late C16,
gates C20. Stone rubble walls with slate coping. Granite gateway with gabled roof
with scantle slates, wrought iron gates. Gateway set in tall walls has moulded
granite segmental arch with blind quatrefoils carved in the spandrals. Slated
gabled roof above archway. Iron gates with scrollwork cresting are entirely
covered with ornamental iron leaves.
