War memorial. 1920's. Granite ashlar. Octagonal obelisk mounted on tall square
pedestal with chamfered base and diagonal buttresses, a panel in each side of
the pedestal with raised lettering, that on the west:-
THE TRIBUTE OF
REDRUTH
TO HER
GLORIOUS DEAD
1914-1918
followed by applied metal lettering:-
TO LIVE IN HEARTS
WE LEAVE BEHIND
IS NOT TO DIE
An added panel let into the chamfered base has raised lettering:-
AND IN
GRATEFUL MEMORY
OF THOSE WHO
GAVE THEIR LIVES
1939-1945
The panels in the other sides of the pedestal have names in applied metal
lettering, 161 for the 1st World War and 66 for the 2nd World War
