House. c.1830. Scored stucco painted white, slate roof, brick chimneys. Square
plan, plus small service wing to rear. Two storeys and 3 bays, on a low plinth;
symmetrical east and north facades: the north front has a coved niche in the
centre of the ground floor, and unhorned 12-pane sashed windows on both floors,
all with raised sills and plain reveals, and a square hipped roof with projecting
eaves and side-wall chimneys; the east front has a central entrance with a
recessed door, similar sashed windows above and to the left, and blind windows
to the right. Attached to the rear is a large lean-to glazed conservatory which
has a glazed door with coloured margin panes, and tall vertical glazing, and
beyond this is a tall 12-pane stairwindow, then a lower 2-storey one-bay service
wing with slate-hung side wall. Interior: doglegged staircase with stick balusters;
original marble fireplaces in both front rooms (white in the drawing room, black
in the dining room).
