Description

CARDINHAM
SX 16 SW
10/10 Terrace walls and steps at the
- south and west fronts of Glynn
House

GV II

Terrace walls and steps. Circa 1830. Granite ashlar. Low ashlar walls with
chamfered coping and low square piers at intervals with square caps. The walls
extend along the south front of Glynn House with a pair of piers at the entrance to
the lower garden. Along the west front, the slope of the ground rises, so only the
coping is continued, with 3 flights of granite steps with coping and piers, leading
down to the garden. The piers at the base of the steps probably originally had urns.
To north west, there is a flight of 15 granite steps with piers and coping, leading
to the upper garden.
