10/11 Service buildings about 10 metres
- north west of Glynn House

GV II

Service buildings. Circa mid-late C18, with later alterations and additions. Stone
rubble with granite quoins and brick dressings. Slate roof with ridge tiles and
gable ends ; bellcote with pyramidal roof. Brewhouse to right with hipped roof.
Plan: The central block has vaulted cellars at ground floor and loft over ; original
function unclear. Attached to right and projecting to front is a taller block which
is said to have been a brewhouse. This has a lean-to attached to front. Set back to
left of centre is another lower 2-storey range.
Exterior: The central block is 2 storey, a nearly symmetrical 4-bay front with
central pediment. Ground floor has 2 C20 double doors with brick segmental arches,
leading to the cellars. First floor has four C18 12-pane sashes in exposed boxes
with flat brick arches. Pediment with clock in tympanum. Bellcote with bell on the
roof ridge. The brewhouse projects to right, of 2 storeys with granite long and short
quoins ; to the front at upper level is an C18 12-pane sash with cambered brick arch,
at the left side a C20 door and similar 12-pane sash at first floor with cambered
brick arch. The lower 2-storey block to left is of 2 bays with 2 windows at ground
floor, one blocked ; two 6-pane sashes with flat brick arches at first floor. Single
storey lean-to attached to front right of the brewhouse has 2 C20 doors.
