Milestone. Late C18 - early C19. Painted granite monolith, about one metre
high, with rounded head. Carved painted lettering in sanserif upper case:
ST AUSTELL IIII TRURO IX. For the mileage to St Austell, the fourth stroke
is half length, meaning 3½ miles.
