House and shop. Early-mid C19 with alterations of later C19 and few later
alterations. Slatestone rubble with granite dressings. Asbestos slate roof with
ridge tiles, hipped to left and with gable end to right. Stack at the left end with
brick shaft.
Plan: Double depth plan, with a larger room to front left and smaller room to front
right; both the front rooms are now used as the shop. Shallow rear service rooms.
The entrance is set off-centre to right and there is one bay to left built over an
open passage which runs along the left side.
Exterior: 2 storeys, nearly symmetrical 4-window front. First floor has four late
C19 4-pane sashes with cambered stone arches and keystones. Ground floor has C19 6-
panelled door with overlight and cambered stone arch with keystone. To right there
is a canted bay window with 4-pane sash to front and sidelights. Late C19 shop
window to left, which is a square bay, with 8 panes at the front and sidelights. The
passage entrance to left has a flat stone arch. Left end blind. At the rear there
is a central late C19 margin-glazed stair light, with C19 12-pane sash with cambered
stone arch and keystone to right and left. Similar 12-pane sash at ground floor to
right and a small single storey C20 addition to left.
