Stables, built at right-angles to road and forming west side of entrance passage
to Old Rectory. C18. Coursed rubble with plinth and quoins. Graduated slate
roof with stone copings and kneelers. 2 storeys. Steps up to loft door at
south end of west elevation; door to right of steps at ground level. Both doors
have chamfered stone surrounds and segmental heads. Large opening with
double-doors to north elevation, dovecote openings in the gable. East wall to
passage is of two builds, both of cobbles with slatestone bonding. Gate piers
to either end of passage are monolithic uprights with chamfered plinth blocks,
moulded imposts, and ball finials. The outer gates are of wrought iron, dated
1895 on the lock-plates.
