5/55 Dring Cottage

II

Detached house. Probable late C17 core with early C19 alterations and additions.
Colourwashed and incised render with C20 slate roof. 2 storey, 4-window north
front. Mixed sashed fenestration, mainly 9 pane sashes, but 1 left hand ground
floor glazed bay window and I right hand upper sash with spoked glazing. Doorway
offset to right hand has Greek key fret to jambs and segmental-headed hood on
carved brackets. 6 panel door with 2 rectangular glazed lights. Catslide roof
to rear over extension, 1 brick stack. Interior. The 2 principal ground floor
rooms have acanthus frieze cornices.
