Lodge cottage. C18/early C19, renovated 1982. Timber framed, plastered, roofed
with slate. Octagonal with door to NE, and central stack. 2 storeys. In the
facets to each side of the front door, on each floor, is a C20 casement with
Tudor head, and a similar blank aperture above the door. Door with Tudor head
in gabled porch. Otherwise C20 casements, and plain door at rear. The interior
retains the original division into 2 rooms at each floor. Shown in the tithe
award of 1841 (Essex Record Office D/CT 258).
